After years of hosting a non dairy thanksgiving dinner, I figured it was high time to gather up my absolute favorite, go-to recipes that taste just as good as the originals.

I’ve been using these dishes for going on five years now and never had anyone notice that there’s no dairy involved.

Is your oven always completely tied up between the main dish and array of sides on turkey day? Yeah, mine too. That’s why I stick with simple no bake appetizers that can be made completely in advance.

My go-to? A festive platter filled with things like dairy free cheese (Miyoko’s cheese wheels and Kite Hill’s chive cream cheese are my favorites), roasted nuts, crackers & meats (be sure to use ones without dairy!), marinated veggies and / or olives, plus fig butter and whole grain mustard. Simple, easy and no fuss.

Before we go, I should mention that I stopped cooking an actual turkey several years ago because, well, it was everyone’s least favorite part of the meal.

Instead, we now do two roast chickens. This herb and lemon roasted chicken recipe is my go-to (subbing out the butter for olive oil). SO GOOD.
