A massive Fortnite leak suggests that crossovers with Disney properties like Kingdom Hearts, Darkwing Duck, and Gargoyles could be announced in the near future. Fortnite has had many such crossovers, with characters from the likes of Marvel and Star Wars being added as playable skins as part of a special event or to promote an upcoming movie. The most recent example of this was for Deadpool and Wolverine, as both the title superheroes received new alternate costumes inspired by their silver screen team-up.
There have been rumors that Fortnite could cross over with Kingdom Hearts, Square Enix’s hit JRPG franchise that combines the worlds and characters of beloved Disney movies with elements of the Final Fantasy series. One such claim surfaced as the Kingdom Hearts games were added to Steam back in June, with the source suggesting that Square Enix was looking into crossovers with other video games. Such a move wouldn’t be unprecedented either, as main protagonist Sora was famously the final DLC character added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Now another Fortnite leak is hinting at an impending crossover with Kingdom Hearts and other classic Disney properties, as reported by Fortnite leakers Shiina, DaRyo, and SpushFNBR. According to them, Epic Games and Disney are set to announce a wave of new Fortnite skins of Disney and Marvel characters during the D23 Expo 2024 this weekend. Kingdom Hearts was one of the properties mentioned, as well as 90s-era Disney cartoon shows Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles.
Leaked Fortnite/Disney Crossovers
- Kingdom Hearts
- Darkwing Duck
- Gargoyles
For those who didn’t grow up during the heyday of the Disney Afternoon programming block, Darkwing Duck was an animated comedy spawned from the success of Ducktales in which the titular “Terror that Flaps in the Night” fights crime in various tongue-in-cheek adventures. Meanwhile, Gargoyles was a surprisingly dark and cerebral action show starring winged creatures that lived as stone statues during the day, only to awaken to battle evil at night. Both shows are regarded as cult classics today, and received video game adaptations while they aired.
It should be stressed that the rumor of these beloved Disney properties crossing over with Fortnite hasn’t been confirmed by any means yet, but the original source, DaRyo, has made accurate Fortnite predictions in the past. D23 is streaming a special event exclusively in Fortnite this year as part of a new partnership between Disney and Epic Games, so players should keep their eyes peeled for any official confirmations this weekend.
