Slumbering Sands will be a six-day event, spanning from Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10am local time to Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 8pm local time. Below you can find detailed information about each component of this new Pokemon Go event, so make sure to read on to take full advantage of the Slumbering Sands Event.
Pokemon Go Debuts
For this event, the Slakoth evolutionary line will be available in a brand-new Pokemon Go costume. Throughout this event, you can expect to encounter Slakoth wearing a visor in the wild, as a Field Research Task encounter, and through Timed Research.
Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to catch this new costumed Pokemon during this event.
After this event has concluded, these costumed Pokemon will be unavailable to encounter and catch.
Once caught, Slakoth wearing a visor can be evolved into Vigoroth, then its final evolution, Slakoth, both keeping the costume upon their evolution.
Additionally, you will have the chance of encountering Shiny Komala for the first time in Pokemon Go. During the Slumbering Sands Event, you can encounter Komala as a wild encounter, through Field Research Tasks, and through Timed Research.
Event Bonuses
There will be two different bonuses active throughout the six days of this event, available to all Pokemon Go players.
First, when successfully catching any Pokemon during the Slumbering Sands Event, you will receive twice the XP for doing so. The double XP that you earn from this can be further increased by using the Lucky Egg item, doubling all XP that you earn for 30 minutes.
Try to catch Pokemon using accurate throws, including Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
Doing so will maximize the XP that you gain for each successful catch.
For the second bonus, you will need to take snapshots of Pokemon during this event to benefit from it. When you take a snapshot, you will have the chance of obtaining a surprise encounter with an event-themed Pokemon.
