Amazing Mic

Sounds amazing on everything from overheads to high hats acoustic guitar harp dulcimer. Very strong would not use another condenser

Simply The Best Acoustic Guitar Microphone

I have used many, many microphones on acoustic guitars and the Sennheiser e914 is easily the best sounding microphone I have used. The clarity and crispness of the e914 is fantastic. The variable filters and pads on the mic are brilliant (I studied Audio Engineering back in the early 90's when the California University system had actual courses in advanced studio engineering).

Simply Awesome!!!

Went through 3 different mic pairs until I got to these. Clear and crisp. Hpf and low cut depending on hoe i'm micing drums that gig. Look no further.

Workhorse

These mics really are an under-the-radar king. If you want a fairly flat mic with a little bump in the top-end for clarity, these are hands down the best at a lower price. If you're thinking about a Neumann KM184, check these out instead. They are less than half the price, have more flexibility, and yield a VERY similar sound. I've used these on snares, toms, cymbals, overheads, acoustic guitars, and even vocals. Snares sound snappy and three-dimensional, toms sound full and powerful, cymbals and overheads sound smooth and crisp, acoustic guitars bloom with a nice, natural full range, and these work great for very natural sounding lead vocals (with a pop filter) and distance micing choral vocals. Stop reading, buy it now.

Great Sounding, Full Featured, Natural Sounding Mics

It's a bit puzzling to me that these mics are so far below the radar. They do everything, very well. They are half the price of a pair of Neumann KM184's, far more flexible with three position pad and roll off switches, and do not have any shrillness in the top end. They are very natural sounding mics! I've had them for a couple of years and they've produced great results as overheads, on acoustic and electric guitars, and surprisingly, even on a few vocal tracks. These mics feel extremely solid and were made in Germany by Sennheiser. If you need a great sounding pair of extremely versatile studio workhorse pencil condensers mics for a great price, look no further. The only possible negative I can think of is that for some strange reason, these particular mics don't seem to hold their resale value as well as the Neumann KM 184's and other Sennheiser mics for that matter, but that could be a positive for those interested in the secondhand market. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the pouches and clips are fantastic...the windscreens are just okay (they fit a little tight) but get the job done when needed. These are some of the most used mics in my studio....highly recommended.

From their studio-standard MD 421 II drum mic to their trusty headphones and ultra-reliable wireless systems, there are countless good reasons why the artists and engineers here at Sweetwater are quick to recommend Sennheiser products. In our personal studios, you'll find plenty of HD 280 Pro headphones, e609 Silver cab mics, and other staples, while many of us rely on EW wireless in-ear systems onstage. Our long association with Sennheiser means we constantly have their latest products in stock and in our hands, so we're ready to tell you all about them. If you're looking for Sennheiser gear, then get the information you need from people who use it - trust your Sweetwater Sales Engineer.
