With it being rumored that Taylor Swift will be attending the Super Bowl LVIII, two women have shared how they will be decorating their party for the game to pay homage to the pop superstar.
The Venn diagram between Swifties and football fans has rapidly grown this past NFL season and on Sunday, fans will be tuning in, hoping to see Swift cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The Chiefs are up against the San Francisco 49ers at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium. They previously went head-to-head at the Super Bowl in Miami in 2020. If Swift can make it back from her record-breaking Eras Tour in Japan in time, there is a high likelihood she will be in a suite cheering on the Chiefs.
Now a video on X, formerly Twitter, of two women showing how they're decorating their Super Bowl party has gone viral online—but people are divided over whether they like it or not.
Posted by user @mogul518315, they wrote the caption: "Uh oh. Taylor Swift Super Bowl parties. Will you attend?" At the time of writing the video had 21.2 million views.
In the video, the women told viewers: "This is your sign to throw a Taylor Swift-themed Super Bowl party." They explained that they bought all of their decor from Amazon, including the red shimmer backdrop and the neon sign that says: "It's a love story."
"How cute are these giant friendship bracelet garlands we made? Look out for a separate tutorial later on how to make these. If you want to have snacks for your party try this easy charcuterie made inside Travis Kelce's number 87 and cupcakes with football and disco ball toppers," they continued.
"Make these Dirty Shirleys extra sparkly by adding in red glitter for the ultimate crowd-pleaser. You can't watch football without beer so this tower keeps the bill chilled all four quarters. Now you're ready to set the stage with all of the little details that make the party complete. We're also adding flower arrangements, Travis Kelce's jersey and football for table decor."
They concluded: "Now who are you guys rooting for? Because we're team Taylor's boyfriend."
Some people online were impressed by the two women's skills, and many took the opportunity to express how much they approved of their efforts.
One user retweeted the video and added: "It's been like four months and the Swifties are already better at watching football than us." At the time of writing, the post had been viewed 14.5 million times.
People took to the comment section of the post to echo the same sentiment.
"Lowkey, let the swifties cook. Boys, we've been wanting the ladies to accept the Super Bowl. It's happening. It'll be a family event in no time," one person wrote.
"Hell yeah I'd go to a Taylor swift Super Bowl party. Do you know how hard swifties go? S**** gonna be lit and they gonna have ALL the cheese bro. And we all know cheese goes hard asf," said another.
"Guys I hate to admit it but we may need more Taylor Swift in football," someone else said alongside a laugh-crying emoji.
A fourth person added: "swifties are the best thing to happen to the #NFL since Tom Brady left New England."
Not everyone has been left impressed with the party, and they weren't shy about sharing their opinion.
"Call me a fragile masculine boy, idgaf. Keep this s*** away from me lol," one X user posted.
"Needs more actual football food. Nachos, sandwiches, meat, burgers, hot dogs, wings, chips & dips!!!!" someone else said.
"Yeah I'd leave and pay to watch at a bar," another person wrote.
A fourth added: "Have you ever been to a Super Bowl party? This is bleak af. 7 layer dip. Wings. Pizza. WAAAAAY more beer."
The music icon has been a regular fixture at Kansas City Chiefs games since she began dating Kelce, with the pair going public with their relationship in September.
The Grammy winner's presence has led to a surge in ratings for the NFL. According to NBC, there was a 54 percent increase in teen girls watching the first three weeks of "Sunday Night Football." There was also a 24 percent rise in women viewers aged 18 to 24, along with a 34 percent spike in women over 35 tuning in.
